Is it Hyper? Is it Super (Soup-er)? Is it a Fuzz?
The answer is of course yes, yes and yes. The Hyper Soup is an evolution of a circuit that dates back to 1968 from Japan, which combines a multi-voiced fuzz with a searing octave effect. These basics were first expanded upon by the FZ-2 from 1993-1997 which furthered the design with a boost section and powerful EQ. Most famously used by Electric Wizard on their seminal album "Dopethrone", the blistering tones have since become legendary.
We have adapted the classic circuit, and optimised it to offer additional performance-lead functionality whilst retaining all of the huge, doomy character of its inspiration:
- Rotary switch offers four modes - Hump (Fuzz I), Scoop (Fuzz II), Mix (aka "secret mode" which blends Hump and Scoop) & Boost
- Footswitchable octave-up, providing two versions of each of the Fuzz modes. Useful as a rhythm/lead option, too, as the octave-up has more perceived gain and treble.
- Boost mode is linked to the master volume control for improved utility.
- Wrapped up in a beautiful sand textured orange powder coated enclosure with true bypass, standard 9v DC power connections, and top mounted jacks in a very pedalboard friendly footprint (1590BB)
- Soldered, wired and assembled completely by hand in Manchester, UK
Note: First batch is extremely limited. Once stock is exhausted, orders will switch to "pre-order" with a lead time of approximately 4-8 weeks. Thankyou!
