About Us

Gigahearts first came to be in around 2011, when Ian (LaceSensor on the forums) started building pedals following an almost life-long love of guitar effects. He started playing guitar aged 11, and had a Zoom 1010 multi effect pedal which was soon replaced with a pedalboard that never stopped growing. Notably, his first true classic was purchased aged 16, an Electro-Harmonix PolyChorus which solidified a passion for cool, vintage, avant guard and experimental sounds.

It wasn't long before friends and other bands on the Manchester music scene where Ian was regularly playing local club shows started asking for custom pedals or clones of hard to find or expensive circuits.

A larger iteration from around 2020

Over the years, Gigahearts got a small but loyal following mostly based around Ian's affection for the mid-90's original English boutique brand, Lovetone, and the clones he made for himself and other people.

Fast forward a few years with varying levels of pedal-related activity, late 2024 brought an opportunity to revisit the brand and commit to a more formal, wider reaching (re)launch of the Gigahearts name to a wider audience. The first set of pedals launching in 2025 represent archetypal favourites, embellished with performance-minded features that are intended to incrementally progress analog distortion. Whilst not rewriting any rule books, each pedal hopes to offer a new feature, option, control parameter or combination thereof to add value and utility to musicians, at genuinely affordable prices while retaining time-honoured hand wired, small-batch boutique construction methods.

We hope you love what you see and hear.
